With the changes eBay recently announced to feedback, detailed seller ratings (DSRs), and PowerSeller requirements, the focus is now on making sure that sellers give buyers a better experience. Community Joint Ventures - Being Your Own Boss

Friday, February 22nd, 2008

Hi gang, Rick here from Community Joint Ventures. Many of us dream of being our own bosses. The lure of big money and flexible work hours is quite attractive. However, many are afraid to venture out on their own. They fear that they do not have the capital required to get a business started or they don´t want to loose the security of their day job.

The solution could be starting a home business. The truth of the matter is that you can start your home business with no money at all. Ask yourself this, do you have a spare room or space in your house. Do you have a computer with an internet connection? Do you have a phone line? If you have these three things you have the essentials of an office from which your home business can be made.

Affiliate marketing can be a great way for you to get started in your home business. Affiliate marketing will provide you with the opportunity to sell either a product or a service. With low capital and little space you may want to concentrate on services.

Once you have made the decision, you need to evaluate your skills. What services can you offer and what skills can you bring. Many people start of with affiliate marketing programs from major search engines. If you´re good at website design, you could register your page with someone such as yahoo publisher. This way your site will get traffic with the help of the search engine Yahoo. If yours is a sales website, your traffic could translate into increased sales. The more exposure to your site the better.

The other thing you can try to do is attract traffic to other sites. Retail sites such as Amazon and EBay have affiliate marketing programs. If you can generate traffic and increase sales then you make money. Both programs offer ways to increase revenues through links and blogs. These are usually free and worth using. Remember, the more you make the more they make.

Finally, your site can make money in another way. When it is posted on sites such as yahoo publisher or Google ad sense, there will be ads placed. Whenever a visitor clicks on an ad you make money. The more clicks the more cash. The operators take care of all the advertising costs and placement. They also try to place appropriate ads to your page. If you´re selling rare books ads for fish food are not likely going to get clicked.

If you want to start working for yourself but feel you don´t have the money then you´re wrong. If you have a computer and space to put it then you have all you need. You can also start you home business and work it around your job. You can gradually commit more time as your home business grows.

If you´re tired of your job and really want to work for yourself then stop making excuses and do it. Though affiliate marketing programs and selling services you will find that having your home business is easier than you think. All it takes is time and a commitment to succeed.

By taking advanantage of the affiliate marketing programs that are currently available, you can make money and improve your own marketing skills. Remember, you can always expand into other areas and venture out totally on your own later. Right now, get marketing and get clicking. Thanks to Jim Jones, The American Chronicle for this.

Community Joint Ventures - Setting up a Joint Venture

Sunday, February 3rd, 2008

Hi gang, Rick here again from Community Joint Ventures with how to increase your sales using Joint Ventures. You approach another entrepreneur and ask them if they will endorse your product or service and allow you to mail to their customer list.

In exchange, you give the entrepreneur a cut of the gross profits, either a set amount or a percentage. You establish this on what your profit margins are within your product or service. These type Joint Ventures allows you to quickly add hundreds if not thousands of names to your customer list.

The first step is to find a suitable joint venture partner. Where do you look?

Try your own customers first. Send out a letter or email announcing youre looking for a joint venture partner. And ask how many customers they have on their list. Obviously, the more, the better.

A great way to find new JV partners is by doing a search on google, yahoo and msn. Check their websites for products, services, company policy, customer service etc.

Ebay is another great website for finding joint venture partners. You will millions of products an services available here. Check out their sister site Kijiji as well.

Another way of to find JV partners is in trade publications. Look at the advertisers. Youll probably find a few that sell similar products to your own. Contact them by phone or letter and explain you would like to create a joint venture with them.

I also like to look at my local papers, the daily and bi-weekly newspapers for new companies. Maybe they have a new product or service that is not available anywhere but your local area, just waiting for the rest of the world to see.

The most important thing is you must have your fellow entrepreneur include a letter of endorsement. He has already established a relationship with his customers. You have not. If his customers are satisfied with his product, then they will much more open to receiving information from him about other products. Without the endorsement, the customer response will drop significantly. You can also offer to write the endorsement letter for your JV partner and then have him approve and sign.

I prefer to approach a potential joint venture partner by sending a letter and then follow up by phone. Be prepared to phone at least a couple of times before your partner agrees.

When sending out the letter proposing a joint venture partnership, be sure to do the following:

1)Offer to do all the work. You handle all the mailing, marketing documents, and product fulfilment.

2) Collect the customer money yourself and then send your JV partner his cut for each sale.

3) Stress the fact that your partner will be getting money for no work. This is a strong incentive for an entrepreneur to become your partner.

4) You will deduct your mailing costs and other expenses first and then split the balance with the partner.

5)Always get your JV partner to sign your letter agreeing to your terms.

6) Include an exit clause. This allows you to cancel the JV agreement if you find your partner is tough to deal with.

By following these steps to a joint venture, you will be able to quickly add hundreds or thousands of potential customers to your database that normally would take years to accumulate. Now watch those sales start coming in.
